Ginninderry

The Ginninderry Joint Venture is a land development project to develop residential suburbs on the west edge of Belconnen and into adjacent land in New South Wales.  The Joint Venture has been operational since 2016.

Background to the Ginninderry Joint Venture

The Joint Venture is governed by a commercial agreement between the ACT Government and Riverview Developments ACT that establishes how both parties contribute to the development of the project. A video explaining the Joint Venture Agreement can be viewed below.

About Ginninderry

Ginninderry is a community with a difference, designed to cater to Canberra’s needs as a growing city. It stretches from the north western suburbs of Canberra (Holt and Macgregor) across the ACT/NSW border into a part of the Yass Valley. It is bounded on two sides by the Murrumbidgee River and Ginninderra Creek. The community will eventually have around 11,500 homes, of which 6,500 will be in the ACT.

Ginninderry has been rated as a 6 Star Green Star Community by the Green Building Council of Australia  – a testament to its liveability, contribution to the local economy, governance, environment, design and innovation.  Planned facilities include new schools, shops, halls, child care centres and medical centres. Just a few minutes’ drive from Belconnen Town Centre, Ginninderry offers the chance to build a rewarding lifestyle in a spectacular location adjacent to the Murrumbidgee River corridor.

Macnamara - your new chapter

Ginninderry’s first award-winning suburb—Strathnairn—has set a new benchmark for sustainable living. Our next suburb—Macnamara—will take it to the next level.

With a commanding position on the western edge of Ginninderry, Macnamara borders the Ginninderry Conservation Corridor along the Murrumbidgee River, with a unique position that takes advantage of incredible views to the Brindabella Mountains.

Riverview Developments is delivering Ginninderry as a joint project with the Territory. The Ginninderry project will eventually include four new suburbs.
